Acting classes for adults on Long Island... The Bare Bones Theater Company has presented adult acting classes on Long Island for over ten years. Many of our acting school students have gone on to successful careers in local, regional, and even professional film and theatre throughout Long Island and the NY region. Our acting classes, and especially our end-of-session showcase performances, are recognized for quality and innovation across Long Island. Beginner and advanced acting classes are offered. Our beginning acting class starts with basic "nuts-and-bolts" exercises in "believability", and then proceeds to short improvisations. The fundamental acting skills of concentration, sense memory, emotional recall, characterization, and projection are introduced. When our acting students are ready, we pick up our first scripts. Our advanced acting classes build on these basics, and also introduce special projects to stimulate further growth and creativity.
