Bare Bones Superior Donut 8.5 x 11-s

The run at our theater in Northport was a sell-out — so this is a unique opportunity to see this stirring show by a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright.

THE PRODUCTION:  Bare Bones presents yet another Long Island premiere of the play Backstage magazine describes as “soulful, full of humor and humanity, and drawn with deep affection. Letts never fails to impress and surprise with his finely wrought characters and sharp dialogue. Its a wonderfully affecting look at a vanishing world and the healing power of friendship– as fresh and tasty as a doughnut right out of the oven.”
THE STORY: Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This comedy-drama by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prizewinning author Tracy Letts explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship.

Director: Jeff Bennett; Associate Director: Christopher Tully; Producer: Alex Edwards-Bourdrez.  With Judith Anderson, Edson Black, Joseph Cavagnet, Steven Clark, Kyle Grant, Kevin Hagan, John King, Kate Madigan, Rick Peters, and Ravi Tawney.

KARMINE ALERS , Broadway Actress from RENT and Aida “I truly enjoyed the productions I’ve viewed at The Bare Bones Theater. The actors and direction of the production were of Broadway caliber.  As an actor myself it was inspiring to see and made me want to work that much harder and better.  I would highly recommend anyone to attend.”
LEE MEYER, Actor “Jeff is that rare teacher and director who truly cares about all of his students and their growth as actors. He makes sure that everyone has their chance to shine, whether or not they’re destined to make it in the big time. ”

ALLYSA ADAMS, TV Reporter “Jeff Bennett is not a one trick teacher. There is never one answer to an acting problem in Bennett’s class. I still use the tools I learned in his classes in my job today. ”
