We begin the eleven week semester of Fundamentals classes with the simplest nuts-and-bolts exercises in believability, proceed gradually to short improvisa-tions, and then (but only when the actors are ready!) pick up our first scripts. The fundamental skills of concentration, sense memory, emotional recall, characterization, voice, and projection are introduced. As a culminating project, everyone is assigned a five-to-ten minute scene from a film or play.

We rehearse these patiently, test them in front of the class, and then perform them for up to 50 guests.
