Meisner Plus: Section One (Jim Bonney) - Designed for the serious student as an introduction to the Meisner Plus Technique, this well-tested approach is based on the teachings of legendary acting guru Sanford Meisner (1907-1997). It has produced startling gains in spontaneity and ‘presence’ among actors who have applied its principles to their work onstage. The ‘Plus’ in the equation refers to the study of emotional preparation, the key ingredient that Meisner called an indispensable foundation to a believable performance. Acclaimed acting teacher, director, and on-set coach Jim Bonney will be accepting students by interview for this twelve week course.

Meisner Plus: Master Class (Jim Bonney) - Uses the principles of the Meisner Plus Technique. Topics covered: how to translate the work into text; how to break down a scene into objectives, obstacles, emotional through line, beats and subtext. Emotional Preparation, through which the actor is compelled to ‘stay in the moment’ and use the imaginary world to open the gates of his/her imagination, remains the foundation for the course. Class culminates with a performance of prepared scenes and monologues. Admission is by interview.
